Team Fee, Uniform, & Required Equipment

Track and field is not a sport that requires a lot of equipment.  Aside from a decent pair of running shoes, and a uniform (which is provided as discussed below), nothing else is required. This allows us to keep the team fee low, especially compared to other sports.

Team Fee Disclosure

The team fee for participation in track and field is $130, which is broken up as follows:

District Fee: $35.00
Transportation Fee: $50.00
Drug Testing Fee: $6.00
Non-Region Entry Fees: $20.00
Equipment Fee: $19.00
Total Fee: $130.00

The equipment fee is assessed to allow the team to purchase necessary protective and competition equipment, include a net, dirt to refesh our throwing pits, and relay batons.

Team Uniform

The team fee includes use of a uniform for the season.  Athletes may not check out a uniform until they have completed their Register My Athlete registration and paid all required fees.  At the close of the season, they are expected to return the uniform clean, freshly laundered, and in good condition (normal wear and tear excepted). Athletes who do not return their uniform as required will be charged a replacement fee.

The boys uniform includes a white Nike jersey and gray Nike shorts.  The girls uniform includes the white Nike jersey.  Girls provide their own black shorts.

This year (2025), sprinters and relay team members will have the option to order (at their own cost) a sprint suit uniform. This is available to ordered from the team store.  Information about the team store will be sent out via Remind.

Running Shoes

It is important -- for enjoyment of training and avoidance of injury -- that each athlete on the team have a decent pair of running-specific shoes.  Many athletes also have competition spikes, though these are not required. We know that running shoes are expensive, but the team does have some resources to help with the cost. If purchasing running shoes for yourself or your athlete is financially difficult, please reach out to us at [email protected], and we will work with you to ensure that you have appropriate footwear.

Appropriate Clothing

Track starts in the winter and finishes in the late spring heat.  In between we see wind, rain, and snow.  Please make sure you or your athletes dresses appropriately for conditions.  Absent lightning, meets and practices are not cancelled.  Track meets can be long.  When they are cold, you need warm clothes.  When they are hot, you need to dress appropriately and bring sunblock.

Other Equipment

No other equipment is required.  For running athletes, it can be helpful to have a watch.  A fancy GPS watch is NOT required.  Any watch that has a stopwatch feature will work just fine.
